Editor's review
The program allows a user to create a file of frequently used phrases, paragraphs, e-mail addresses, macros, clipboard entries, scripts, etc. and use them in any application just by typing a short abbreviation (text shortcut) or pressing a hotkey.
Pros: Most e-mails end with similar phrasing, many documents open with similar wording. What if one could just type a few letters and complete words, phrases, sentences or even a paragraph gets typed out! Since these are pre defined, they do not cause any mistake to happen either. Similarly running windows applications often calls for repetitive typed responses or mouse click sequences. What if all of these could be automated? Life could really get simpler. This kind of auto text applications/macro generators helps users do just that. Perfect Keyboard is a time-saving utility running under the Windows 9x/2000/NT/XP operating systems.
The program allows a user to create a file of frequently used phrases, paragraphs, e-mail addresses, macros, clipboard entries, scripts, etc. and use them in any application just by typing a short abbreviation (text shortcut) or pressing a hotkey (key shortcut). Typed actions and mouse click sequences or a combination of them can simply be recorded to create a macro that is triggered by a single action of a hotkey or a mouse click or whatever. The other way of creating macros is to use the scripting language available to define the actions necessary. The scripting language available provides 150 odd commands to build these macro definitions. These allow one to insert time and date, activate a window, launch applications, manage files and directories, work with clipboard, download files, format text and so on. Creating macros doesn`t require any programming skills thanks to visual editing tools.
Cons: Nothing problematic noticed.
Overall an application full of features for some useful actions, this is certainly good for at least a 4 star rating.
